How To Make a Electromagnet With a Battery

How to make an electro magnetic field using a 6v battery a nail and copper wire

You Will Need

  • 1 a 6v dry cell battery
  • 1 copper wire
  • 1 wire cutter
  • 1 wire stripper
  • 3 iron shaving or any thing metal etc canadian coins
  • 1 iron nail

Step 1: 1

remove battery terminal covers

Step 2: 2

wrap wire around nail

Step 3: 3

strip wire on each end

Step 4: 4

attach stripped wire to battery terminal one at a time

Step 5: 5

take other nail or canadian coins place at either end of nail wrap in wire .If it stick you have just created an electromagnetic field
