How To Increase Your Sperm Count Howcast Written

Howcast Version. This is the Howcast written version of this Wiki Guide. If you can improve it, show us your stuff by editing the latest revision.

Increase your sperm quantity and quality with these scientifically tested methods.

You Will Need

  • Boxers
  • Roomy pants
  • Mobility
  • Vegetables high in glutathione
  • Dietary supplements
  • Good dental hygiene
  • A healthy weight
  • Oysters (optional)

Step 1: Have more sex

Enjoy more nookie! Research suggests that having sex on a regular basis improves sperm quality, increasing the likelihood of conception.

Step 2: Keep the laptop off your lap

Keep your laptop anywhere but on your lap: The heat the computer generates and the knee-lock position required to balance it can both damage sperm.

Step 3: Limit cell phone use

Cut down on cell phone use. Stashing your cell in your pants while talking with an earpiece may harm sperm, especially if you use the phone four or more hours a day.

Step 4: Be chill

Sperm wither in high temperatures, so keep cool by choosing boxers over briefs and avoiding too-tight pants, water beds (which tend to heat you up), and electric blankets.

Get up and move around every hour. A study of taxi drivers found they had lower sperm counts than men in other professions because sitting all day raised their testicular temperature.

Step 5: Eat certain vegetables

Eat more broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus. They’re good sources of glutathione, an antioxidant that improves sperm quality.

Step 6: Supplement your diet

Ask your doctor about supplements, including coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium. High levels of these nutrients have been linked to high sperm count and motility.

Oysters, long rumored to be an aphrodisiac, are the best source of zinc, which studies have linked to increased sperm counts.

Step 7: Brush and floss

Brush and floss your teeth religiously. One study found a link between gum infections and low sperm counts.

Step 8: Lose weight

Lose weight if you need to. A 2006 federal study found that every extra 20 pounds a man carries may increase his chances of infertility by 10 percent.

While human sperm can fertilize an egg for up to 48 hours, bat sperm are able to fertilize for up to 135 days.
