Adding links and images is a great way to make a Wiki Guide really come to life.
Find a link or image that’s relevant to a Wiki Guide you’re either writing or editing. Often it’s helpful to link to other Howcast Videos or Wiki Guides!
You should own the rights to any external images you post, and be sure to only link to appropriate content.
Under the “Instructions” heading, find the step, tip, warning, or fact you want to embellish. If you want to insert a new one, click “Add.”
To insert a link, click on the link icon, which looks like a chain. (It’s next to the buttons that change the style of the font.) Where it says “URL,” insert the address you want, and write the text you want to become a link where it says “Display link name.”
To insert an image, click on the image icon, which is next to the link icon.
In the window that pops up, browse for the image file on your computer that you want to upload. Once you’ve selected it, click “Upload.”
Images must be a .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif file no larger than two megabytes.
When the image appears at the top of the window under the words “Please choose an image to insert,” click on it before hitting “Insert” and then “Save.”
Now insert any other images or links that you want.
When everything looks good, it’s time to credit your sources. By clicking “Add” on the “Sources” box on the right, you can link to any pages you consulted to write or edit the guide.
You can also make the text in a Wiki Guide bold, italic, or underlined.
