To transfer your video from your camera to your computer,

1. You will need a digital camcorder (such as MiniDV, HDV, Digital8, or any of the DVD formats).
2. Connect your camcorder to your computer via the USB or FireWire ports, or by inserting the DVD you’ve recorded into your computer.
3. Once you’ve downloaded the video from the camera, you can upload it to Howcast if it’s ready, or you can import it into an editing program.
