- What kind of video do I need to make to apply for the Directors Program?
In a moment, you'll choose and download a Howcast Production Pack, which has all the elements you will need to make a great looking Howcast Application Video. In the production pack you will find graphics, a voice-over track, and a detailed how-to guide.
- If I am accepted into the Directors Program, what will I get paid?
Once accepted, you will be paid $50.00 for each approved video. Additionally, after your video is viewed more than a 40,000 times, we'll split (50/50) any revenue we generate from advertising next to your videos – both on Howcast.com and with partners.
- I'm not a director. Can I join the Howcast Network as a crew member?
Yes. If you have other film making skills (i.e. camera, lighting, acting, etc.,), you're welcome to the Network. We will try to connect you with a Howcast Director in your area to work on Howcast video production projects.
- If I pick a category, will I be limited to assignments with in it?
We do our best to match assignments with member preferences. However, you may also get other types of videos to work on. If you don't have a preference, leave the categories clear.
- Why is Howcast interested in information about my work experience and projects?
The more information we have about your experience and talents, the better job we can do at pulling together a community of filmmakers within the Network.
- I'd like to use my videos to apply to the Directors Program. What is the benefit of using your Production Pack?
By providing you with the written script and recorded voice-over, we can ensure your video is accurate and consistently branded. This will make your videos more useful to users and thus more valuable to our advertisers.
- How creative can I be with my application video?
Though we are providing you our own production elements, we strongly encourage our filmmakers to "push the creative envelope" with respect to the visual concept and production execution. This should result in a more compelling, entertaining video.
- Can I preview the how-to script before choosing a Production Pack?

- Why should I join as an Expert?
You probably know something we don't! Being part of the Howcast Network is a great (and free!) way to promote yourself or your business. We're looking for experts to help us provide the world with the most accurate and useful information available.
