Traditional people use the term 'Papier-mâché' (which translates from the French to "Chewed Paper'), some people use the equally acceptable term 'Paper mache'.... which uses one English word and one (modified) French one. 'Paper' is Middle English, derived from Old French (papier), which in turn came from the Latin (paprus, papyrus plant, papyrus paper). Both are equally acceptable/interchangeable. « less

Yeah I agree that the final pot did not come out perfectly as there were a couple of problems making it. Firstly the pot itself has some defects (older coatings) which probably caused imperfect coating and more importantly - It would have turned out a lot more natural looking if there had been more moisture in the air, I live in the desert and had no chemical reaction until we had a freak storm which spattered the pot directly with water. Depending on exactly where you live you may need to artificially introduce the moisture which may also cause an "unnatural" look. Hope this helps! « less
