Comment: Hey, Good question. All stock footage is under a creative commons license from www.archive.org. It's an amazing site with tons of rights free stuf. I often use footage from the "Prelinger archive" in the video section. Hope that helps.

Comment: Jackie, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you about your kind comment. Thanks for the support! I actually do work professionally as a filmmaker but take on Howcasts once in a while to supplement my income. I can't tell you how nice it is of someone to take the time to write a note like yours (and how rude it is of me not to have written back sooner).
