You Will Need

  • 1.5 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz cherry-flavored brandy
  • 0.25 oz Cointreau
  • 0.25 oz Benedictine
  • 4.0 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 0.333333 oz grenadine
  • A dash of bitters
  • Ice
  • A cocktail shaker
  • A Collins glass
  • A maraschino cherry
  • A pineapple slice

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Pour gin, brandy, and Cointreau

    Pour an ounce and a half of gin, half an ounce of cherry-flavored brandy, and a quarter of an ounce of Cointreau into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

  2. Step 2

    Add Benedictine and juice

    Add a quarter of an ounce of Benedictine, four ounces of pineapple juice, and half an ounce of lime juice.

  3. The drier liqueur B&B can be substituted for Benedictine.

  4. Step 3

    Add grenadine and bitters

    Add a third of an ounce of grenadine and a dash of bitters. Shake vigorously.

  5. Step 4

    Strain into a glass

    Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled Collins glass.

  6. Step 5

    Garnish with cherry and pineapple

    Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of pineapple. Cheers!

  7. The Singapore sling was created in 1915 by a bartender at the world-famous Long Bar in Singapore’s Raffles Hotel.
