How To Dress Up Ramen Noodles With Peanut Butter

With just a few ingredients you can take your ramen noodles from mundane to mouthwatering.

You Will Need

  • 2 water
  • A large microwave-safe bowl
  • A microwave oven
  • 1 package of ramen noodles, in any flavor
  • A plate large enough to cover the bowl
  • Another small bowl
  • 2 creamy or chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • A scallion, or long green onion
How To Dress Up Ramen Noodles With Peanut Butter: Pour water into bowl

Step 1: Pour water into bowl

Pour the water into a large microwaveable bowl.

Step 2: Microwave water

Microwave the bowl of water on high for three minutes.

Step 3: Take bowl out of microwave

Using a dish towel to protect your hands, carefully take the hot bowl out of the microwave.

Step 4: Add seasoning to water

Open the seasoning packet and add the contents to the water.

Step 5: Submerge noodles in water

Snap the block of ramen noodles in half and submerge both halves in the water.

Step 6: Cover & let noodles sit

Cover the bowl with the plate and let the noodles sit for five minutes.

If you have a stove or hot plate, you can cook the noodles in a small pot of boiling water for three minutes.

Step 7: Add peanut butter & sugar

In another bowl, add the peanut butter and sugar.

Step 8: Pour in soy sauce & vinegar or lemon juice

Pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar or lemon juice.

Step 9: Mix with spoon

Stir with a spoon until it’s all well mixed.

If the sauce seems too thick, add a teaspoon of the hot ramen broth to make the sauce a little thinner.

Step 10: Drain broth into sink

When the noodles are ready, take the plate off the noodle bowl and, using a fork to hold back the noodles, drain the broth into the sink.

Step 11: Pour noodles in bowl w/ sauce

Pour the noodles in the bowl with the peanut butter sauce.

If you have sesame oil, add just a few drops. It’s delicious, but too much will taste bitter.

How To Dress Up Ramen Noodles With Peanut Butter: Toss noodles & sauce together

Step 12: Toss noodles & sauce together

Using a fork, toss the noodles and peanut butter sauce together until the noodles are evenly coated.

How To Dress Up Ramen Noodles With Peanut Butter: Chop scallions & sprinkle

Step 13: Chop scallions & sprinkle

With a small knife or scissors, chop or cut the scallion into little rounds and sprinkle it on top.

Sugar? They said add Sugar? That is the worst thing for your body. It's a sly fox. Tastes good but creates slow havoc for the body. And toss the packet of seasoning out. MSG to the max in that stuff, ugh. Just cook the noodles and season at will....but please, forget the sugar.
