What a cool idea: A video series about blended and frozen drinks, courtesy of Howcast.

You Will Need

  • 1 c. ice
  • A blender
  • 1 small banana
  • 2 oz. light rum
  • 2 tbsp. banana-flavored liqueur
  • 1 tsp. lime juice
  • 1 tsp. simple syrup
  • And a large cocktail glass, like a daiquiri or margarita glass

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Chill glass

Chill the cocktail glass by filling it with ice and water, and set it aside.

  2. Step 2

    Crush ice

Crush the ice in the blender.

  3. If you’re making a big batch of daiquiris, add the other ingredients to the blender first, then add in ice until the pitcher is full.

  4. Step 3

    Peel banana & break up

Peel the banana and break it into small chunks.

  5. Step 4

    Put banana in blender

Place the small chunks of banana into the blender.

  6. Step 5

Add rum, liqueur, lime juice, & syrup

Pour in the light rum, banana liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup.

  7. Simple syrup is just sugar boiled in water--but honey will work equally well.

  8. Step 6

    Blend

Blend the ingredients for about 15 seconds, or until smooth and creamy.

  9. Step 7

    Empty glass

    Empty the now-chilled cocktail glass.

  10. Step 8

    Pour & serve

Pour contents into the glass and serve.

  11. Most bananas are grown in tropical regions--except in Iceland, where they flourish in geyser-heated soil.
