Tired of spending a lot of money on facial products that don’t even work? Try on some masks made from items you already own—they’re all natural and good enough to eat!

You Will Need

  • Canned pumpkin
  • Papaya
  • A strawberry
  • An avocado
  • Witch hazel
  • A grapefruit
  • Sugar
  • Yogurt
  • Honey
  • A peach
  • Oatmeal
  • Brown sugar
  • Milk
  • A cucumber
  • A banana
  • An egg
  • A lemon
  • A plum or nectarine
How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Think pumpkin and papaya

Step 1: Think pumpkin and papaya

Pumpkin is loaded with skin-healing antioxidants, while papaya contains an enzyme that dissolves oil and dead skin cells. Mix one cup of canned, mashed pumpkin with 2/3 cup mashed papaya, apply to a clean, dry face, leave on for ten minutes, then rinse.

Don’t have papaya? Pineapple works just as well.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Use a strawberry

Step 2: Use a strawberry

Strawberries contain alpha-hydroxy acid, which helps slough off dead skin cells, and salicylic acid, which dries up oil that can block pores and cause breakouts. For clearer, brighter skin, simply cut a berry in half, rub on your face, leave for five minutes, and wash off.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Use an avocado

Step 3: Use an avocado

Avocados are rich in vitamin E, which is great for moisturizing dry skin. Mash one, add a few drops of witch hazel—which dries oily skin and removes impurities—and apply for five minutes for smoother, softer skin.

Wash your face no more than twice a day; any more than that and you risk stripping the skin of its natural oils.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Try a grapefruit

Step 4: Try a grapefruit

The acids in grapefruit exfoliate dead skin and boost cell renewal, leaving you with fresher skin, while the vitamin C increases collagen, making your face look smoother. Combine the juice of a grapefruit with enough sugar to make a paste, rub into damp skin in the shower, leave for one minute, then rinse.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Try yogurt and honey

Step 5: Try yogurt and honey

Honey softens and moisturizes dry skin, while yogurt has lactic acid that rejuvenates the complexion. Mix a teaspoon of honey with two tablespoons milk, heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds to slightly melt the honey, and apply for ten to fifteen minutes.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Use peach and oatmeal

Step 6: Use peach and oatmeal

Like strawberries, peaches contain the natural exfoliant alpha-hydroxy acid, while oatmeal soothes and softens dry, flaky skin. Mash a ripe peach, add a tablespoon each of oatmeal and honey, and apply for ten minutes.

Don’t have a peach available? Plums and nectarines have alpha-hydroxy acid, too!

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Use brown sugar and milk

Step 7: Use brown sugar and milk

Brown sugar is a natural exfoliant that scrubs dead skin cells, while milk cleanses. Mix a cup of brown sugar with a tablespoon of milk, rub into the skin for a full minute, and leave on for 15 minutes.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Grab a cucumber

Step 8: Grab a cucumber

Cucumber has cooling properties that reduce redness, inflammation, and puffiness. In a blender, mix together half a cucumber with a tablespoon of yogurt, apply to the face, and leave on for 20 minutes to feel refreshed.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Use a banana

Step 9: Use a banana

Bananas have natural fruit acids that slough off dry skin cells. Mash one ripe banana with two tablespoons plain yogurt and apply for 15 minutes for a revitalized complexion.

How To Make Your Own All-Natural Face Masks: Try an egg and lemon

Step 10: Try an egg and lemon

Egg whites tighten pores in the skin while lemon is filled with skin-revitalizing vitamin C that can help remove blackheads and blemishes. Separate the egg white from the yolk, add a few drops of lemon juice, and apply for 15 minutes.

You’ll replace each skin cell about eight times by the end of this year.
