Learn how to make textured embellishments using Ranger’s Antiquities Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder and Adirondack® Pigment Ink Pads.
You can use this technique in your scrapbooking and cardmaking.
Cut a 4” football from the kraft-colored cardstock and a 4” football shadow from white cardstock using the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge and Expression Die Cut machine.
Working on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, use the Pitch Black Pigment pad direct to the paper to colorize the entire football.
Pigment ink stays wet for a longer period of time, so it is a great choice when you want to heat emboss a diecut or a stamped image.
Place the colored football onto a piece of scrap paper and pour the Frosted Crystal embossing powder over the entire die cut. Remove the excess powder and place it back into the jar. Use the Heatit Craft Tool to melt the powder. Once you are finished, allow it to cool.
Tap a piece of Cut ‘N Dry Foam into the Espresso Pigment pad and randomly add color to the diecut. Repeat with Red Pepper pad, going back and forth until the desired color is achieved.
Again, place the diecut on a scrap piece of paper. Pour the Frosted Crystal embossing powder over the entire die cut. Remove the excess powder and place it back into the jar. Use the Heatit Craft Tool to melt the powder. Once you are finished, allow it to cool.
Glue the embossed diecut to the white shadow diecut, making sure to thoroughly glue the pieces together.
Fill in the stitches of the football with White Opal Liquid Pearls. You should start the flow of paint by squeezing it onto a piece of scrap paper first. Once you are finished, allow it to dry.
Liquid Pearls are a pearlescent acrylic paint that can be applied to your project straight from the bottle for a dimensional effect, or you can use a paintbrush to apply them. You can even add water to make a watercolor paint.
Use Pitch Black ink to stamp “the legend…” in the upper left-hand corner and “Dad” in the lower right hand corner. Before you stamp, just make sure the diecut will not cover the words.
Stamp “Happy Father’s Day onto the Gray side of the Handsome paper with Pitch Black ink, trim the cardstock close to the words and glue onto the football.
Glue the football onto the card.
