How often have you said, “If only there were more than 24 hours in a day!” By learning to polyphasic sleep—meaning breaking up a night’s sleep into a series of shorter naps—you can squeeze an extra whole day out of the week.
Pick one of two polyphasic schedules: Uberman Sleep, where you take 20 to 30 minute naps every four hours, or Dymaxion Sleep, where you snooze for 30 minutes every six hours.
Start your new sleep schedule. Expect to suffer through sleep deprivation for the first two weeks, as your body adjusts to shorter sleep cycles.
Don’t deviate! You are training your body to fall instantly into the all-important REM sleep that makes us feel rested. Missing even one nap—or oversleeping—will throw everything off.
Enjoy more food! One bonus of the diet is you’ll need to consume more calories because your body will be active several more hours each day.
Expect to experience vivid dreams once you adjust to your new sleep pattern.
Feel superior to all those slugs wasting 8 hours a night on sleep.
Benjamin Franklin and Leonardo Da Vinci were believed to have been polyphasic sleepers.

Nice cityscape shots...though polyphasic sleeping seems like torture to me!

Definitely! I'm pretty sure you'd end up either schizophrenic....or highly successful..... or maybe people who accomplish things are really just schizophrenic..... Yeah, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it: successful people are schizophrenic. Good for me!

Hmmm....I'd have to think about that a bit more. You may have jumped to a hasty conclusion. ;)

What about the everyman sleep schedule? Isn't it polyphasic?
over 2 years ago by Seiromem
I really didn't know much about polyphasic sleeping before making this video. I just looked it up online, and I don't see why the everyman schedule wouldn't be considered polyphasic. That one actually seems a lot more reasonable than the Uberman and Dymaxion schedules in the video.

Well done video, however it could be more accurate. There is a lot of polyphasic misinformation on the net, would you consider making another version, or at least re-doing some of the audio? A resource like that would be amazingly useful if it was accurate. I can probably also get some input from Puredoxyk, the authority in the subject if you would be willing to do so.
Some of your statements can be clarified in my post here:

Comment or drop me an email if you would consider version two!

Hmmm... I personally would be willing to re-edit audio, but I didn't write it, nor did I record the voice over, so I'm not sure if I'm in the position to do that.

It sounds okay but I couldn't do this. I'd rather have 5-6 hours every 24 hours than do either of those methods.
