Tasty homemade pico de gallo is a simple way to add a flavorful kick to almost any meal.

You Will Need

  • 1 ½ c. tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • ¼ c. onions, diced
  • 1 tbsp. jalapeños, diced
  • 1 tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. cilantro, chopped
  • 2 limes
  • Salt and pepper
How To Make Pico De Gallo: Combine ingredients

Step 1: Combine ingredients

Combine the tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, garlic, and cilantro in a medium-sized bowl.

How To Make Pico De Gallo: Add lime juice

Step 2: Add lime juice

Squeeze the juice of two limes over the mixture, adding salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.

To get the most juice, soften the lime by pressing down on it and rolling it over a countertop.

How To Make Pico De Gallo: Cover and chill

Step 3: Cover and chill

Cover and chill for up to four hours, or enjoy immediately for an instant treat. This recipe can be used for dipping, cooking, or as a garnish.

Pico de Gallo means “rooster’s beak” in Spanish.
