The game of “Celebrity” is a fun diversion for everyone, especially those who consider entertainment reports front-page news.
Organize your group into teams of equal number.
Have each team write the names of five celebrities on five pieces of paper. Collect all the papers and place them in a large bowl.
Don’t limit your choices to just movie or TV stars; try politicians, sports figures, and more.
Elect one team member to select a paper from the bowl and then describe the celebrity using descriptions or clues. No part of the celebrity’s name may be used as a clue. Teammates have one minute to guess the celebrity.
Give your team a point and select a new name from the bowl if you correctly guess the celebrity. Giving an illegal clue ends the turn and the other team draws a name. If you guess incorrectly, no point is given and your team loses a turn.
Alternate giving and receiving clues with your partners. If you don’t recognize a celebrity name, return it to the bowl and draw another name. The next team repeats the steps.
Add points to determine a winner. The team with the most points wins. Play as many rounds as you wish.
Playwright and author Arthur Bicknell invented “Celebrity.”
