You Will Need

  • 5 29/100 oz. Mince per person (you can use quorn or other)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 egg (or egg substitue)
  • Plain Flour (small bag)
  • 1 tsp. Cooking Oil
  • 2 tsp. Pepper (adjust to personal taste) (optional)
  • 2 tsp. Garlic (ground clove or salt) (adjust to personal taste) (optional)
  • 2 tsp. Chilli Powder (adjust to personal taste) (optional)
  • 1/4 Pepper (adjust to personal taste) (optional)
  • 2 tsp. Paprika powder (adjust to personal taste) (optional)
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Baking tray
  • 1 Sharp knife
  • 1 Chopping board
  • 1 Spatula

Before you start to cook decide what kind of burger you want, plain, spicy, veggie and adjust you ingredients acordingly. There are many more alternatives than what I’ve listed, just use you imagination to create your desired combination.

Step 1: Preparing the vegatables

Chop your veggies into small pieces and mix them together in the bowl. Add you spices or herbs etc as well and mix them with the veggies.

Using your hands to mix makes sure that you ingredients are blended together well.

Step 2: Adding the mince

Take you mince and knead it with the veggies untill blended.

If your mince is from frozen make sure it’s thourghly thawed as cold or frozen mince won’t work well.
Also if your using meat mince make sure you wash your hands before and after handling to avoid contamination.

Step 3: Adding the egg

Beat the egg in a seperate bowl until compleatly beaten then add to the mince mixture and knead until compleatly blended.

If using an egg subsitue make sure in can be beaten.

Step 4: Adding the flour

Gradually add flour into the mixture so it becomes a slightly firm mixture, similar to dough.

Step 5: Forming the burger

Pour some flour onto your baking tray and spread it evenly. Now take a small handfull of your burger mixture and begin to shape it in your hand. Place in onto the tray and continure shaping will patting flour on the sides and flipping to coat the burger evenly. When the burger holds it’s shape then it is ready to cook.

If you can get a friend to help you with this part as it can be tricky.

You may want to try different shaped burgers. Try using a knife or cutter to make a creative meal.

Step 6: Cooking the burger

Heat you pan on a meadium temp with the oil until it’s hot. Place your burger in the center of the pan and cook until brown, turning regulary.

If using meat make sure it’s cooked through compleatly before eating.

If you don’t need you burgers that day you can cover them and keep them in the fridge for 1-3 days.
