Pat your clean eyelids with loose or pressed powder to create a base for longer-lasting, crease-free shadow.
You can also apply a primer specifically formulated for eyes with a sponge-tip applicator or your finger.
Choose the type of eye shadow that’s easiest for you to use and control: powder, cream, or pencil.
Choose a light, medium, and dark shade that complement your eye color and skin tone.
Save black, dark gray, and deep purple for nighttime.
Apply the lightest shade with a brush or sponge-tip applicator from your lash line up to your eyebrow. Cover the entire lid.
Use a brush or sponge-tip applicator to apply the medium color from the center of your eyelid out and up to the crease.
Sweep the dark shade in the crease and “wing” out at your eye’s outside corner with another brush or sponge-tip applicator.
