Brighten up your kitchen and give your cabinets a new look with a fresh coat of paint.
Remove all of the drawers, cabinet doors, and hardware using a screwdriver.
Use grease-cutting cleanser and a sponge to gently, but thoroughly, clean the cabinets, drawers, and doors. Rinse the surfaces and let them dry.
Fill in any dents or divots in the doors and drawers using wood putty and a putty knife.
Do not cover the holes for the hardware unless you will be installing new pieces.
Lightly scrub all of the surfaces with sandpaper.
Use masking tape to cover all of the surfaces that you don’t want painted.
Paint the cabinets. Use a mini roller for tight spaces like the inside of the cabinet. Use a full-sized roller or a brush everywhere else.
Use an airless paint sprayer to smoothly and quickly cover large surfaces, like the door fronts.
Allow the paint to dry completely. Reattach the hardware, and then remount the doors and drawers. Step back and admire your beautiful new kitchen cabinets.
Did you know? According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest painting in the world is Swedish artist David Aberg’s 86,000-square foot, 100-ton work Mother Earth.
