How To Make Arepas Colombianas

Delicious Colombian white corn flour

You Will Need

  • c. Precooking white corn flour
  • c. Water or milk
  • tsp. Salt
  • Butter or Canola oil
  • c. Mozzarella cheese
  • one deep bowl
  • Griddle or Pan

Step 1: 1

Put one cup of white corn flour in a bowl

Step 2: 2

*Add little by little one cup of warm water or milk while stirring, then add salt and one spoon of butter or oil, if desired to make a soft dough. *

Step 3: 3

Let stand for 3 minutes to obtain softer Arepas.

Step 4: 4

Add 3 tablespoons of water if need and knead.
Add cheese at you preference.

Step 5: 5

Shape the Arepas (rounded)

Step 6: 6

Then cook on a lightly greased griddle or pan in a medium high temperature until crusty on both side or fry them in hot oil.

You Can server with egg on breakfast with meat at lunch or diner.
