Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for! I wasn't sure how to do the repeat on a non-symmetrical repeat. One thing that a friend told me was that you can place an un-colored box (your blue box) in the very back when you drag that into the palette, and then that's what the pattern crops to. Then you don't have to slice up the final pattern.
