How to interlock dreads (tightening the roots) with a single paperclip
Straighten out the paper clip in a 180 degree angle.
Bend the paperclip in a form of a teardrop. Make the shape as desired.
Twists the ends to keep the shape of the paperclip.
Interlock Step 1: Find dread that has new growth (hair that hair grown that is not locked)
Interlock Step 2: Put the tool through the new growth.
Interlock Step 3: Put dread in loop from the top.
Interlock Step 4: Pull outwards in any direction. Repeat steps.
DO NOT enter tool in same direction. This will form a “Y” in your roots. So enter tool in different directions

what product di use to maintain your locs for the touchups & in between, & once I do the interloc technique on my client will the be a permanent do? & to maintain that do I continue the interloc or the retwist I usually do? Kinda new to the loc industry

To retwist (or touchup), I usually use beeswax (It's not recommended but it holds good for my hair). But any twist gel for locks are good. The interlock method is not actually permanent, cuz ur hair will grow out (of course!) but it's a good way to tighten the root. You can do both retwisting & interlock method. That's what I do. I like interlocking because my usually when I retwist, it untwists, but interlocking keeps it tight and u won't have much buildup.
