Learn Tim Holtz’ Distress Crackle Paint Resist Technique.
Begin by shaking your bottle of Distress Paint.
Brush the paint onto the tag with the built- in brush and apply a medium coat of paint to approximately two-thirds of the tag. Make some dry brush strokes along the sides for a cool effect.
For small cracks, apply a thin coat of paint and for larger cracks apply a heavy coat of paint.
Next, set it aside to dry. You can speed up the process with a Heat it Craft Tool once the paint has started to crack
Ink the entire tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, applying it with the blending tool in a circular motion. Repeat with Fired Brick ink just on the edges.
Stamp image onto tag using Black Soot ink.
Spray water from the Mini Mister onto a paper towel, and wipe the wet paper towel over the painted portion of the tag to remove the ink.
Rub the edges of the tag with the Black Soot Distress ink pad to add more definition.
Finish off your tag with embellishments. I used ribbon, buttons, rubs and a brad.
Add the tag to your finished project.
