How To Enable Half-Star Ratings in iTunes on a Mac

Some artists don’t even deserve a full star. Learn how to give them the half-assed rating they deserve.

You Will Need

  • iTunes
  • A Mac computer

Step 1: Close iTunes

Close iTunes, and open Terminal in the utilities folder.

Step 2: Type a code

Type the following: Defaults write com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars-bool TRUE

Step 3: Close Terminal and run iTunes

Press Return and close Terminal. That’s it!
