If you lack storage space, this simple guide will amaze your friends and family for no more than a few bucks.
Open the back cover of the book and use the tape measure and pencil to find and mark the middle of the last page. Trace the outline of the bracket from this center mark outward to the page’s edge.
Using the utility knife, cut out your outline of the bracket, forming a slot through about 20 pages of the book until the bracket sits flush with the book cover closed.
Hang the bracket over the side of a table or have a friend hold it in place as you work.
With the utility knife, notch the book cover so the bracket side of the book sits flush against the wall.
Attach the bracket to the book using the small screws and the screwdriver. The screws should not be longer than the book is thick.
Hold down the pages as you screw in the bracket, or they may push the bracket up and force it loose.
Fasten the pages down with one long flathead wood screw in each corner, and then glue the back cover over the screws and bracket. Place a weight on top of the book.
Wait at least 24 hours for the glue to dry.
Locate a stud by using a stud finder.
Drill pilot holes and secure the bracket to the wall with the remaining long screws. Now load up your shelf to hide the bracket.
