This is a really cool idea, great video! I wonder if there is a way to do this for those of us that live in apartments? Can't wait to see more episodes.
That's great, I'm looking forward to more of your vids. I am going to check out the one you just uploaded in a few. I have a small balcony, it's about 3x3 feet, think that'd be enough to rig something like this? Thanks again guys keep up the great work!
Once while traveling in South America I noticed who some of the villagers had large black barrels on their roof tops. I asked and found out that how they captured fresh water and also heated it for their homes. A 3rd world country with real solutions. I would love to do the same.
great way to do this.
black poly pipe can be a pain to work with. i let it heat up in the sun for a few hours then wrestle with it. since this is a coil system, you don't have to unravel it, just slowly flatten the coil out on a hard surface then attach the wood.
putting the hose ends in very hot water also works when attaching unions and elbows, and eliminates the mess of vegetable oil. be sure to buy stainless steel clamps.
i'd suggest insulating the hot water pipe that comes off the roof to the house, you can lose 1 degree per foot when hot water has to travel.
i'm going to try this for a summer shower project on my show, putting the hose on my wood shed.
