Before your friend becomes a wife, have a fun night with the girls and throw her a bachelorette party.
Determine the type of party you’re going to throw. Talk to the bride and get a sense of whether she wants a wild party or a more traditional get-together.
Schedule the date of the party. The weekend before the wedding is usually a good choice.
Put together a guest list of the bride’s female friends and family, and invite them early enough so that they can attend.
Plan a budget by finding out how much guests are willing to spend.
Overestimate the cost per person, so there is plenty of money to cover any unforeseen expenses.
Pick a location to have the party. If you’re going to a bar, make sure there are designated drivers. If you’re staying at home, assign bridesmaids to decorate.
Plan plenty of entertainment. Go to a musical or show, stay home and play party games, or take a pole dancing or exotic dance class.
Make the bride wear an embarrassing novelty necklace, shirt, or veil.
Have fun and be sure to take plenty of pictures.
U.S. couples who married in 2008 were engaged for an average of 15.7 months.
