Get your sweetheart something they'll truly cherish this Valentine's Day.
You Will Need
- Photos in profile
- 9" x 12" construction paper
- Pencil and eraser
Trim the paper
Use scissors to cut the construction paper so it's 4 inches wide and 12 inches long.
Make the folds
Make a crease 3 inches in from each of the short sides. Then, make two more creases 3½ inches in. The extra creases give the card a wider footprint so it will stand up on it's own.
Create top face
Using the photo as a guide, draw your profile in pencil on the left flap, so the tip of its nose nearly reaches the edge. Be sure to draw lips that are slightly open. Then, cut along the line of the profile, removing the excess paper.
Trace the nose and mouth
Fold the flaps back into the middle of the card, so the left flap, with the face you've already cut out, is on top. With the card closed, trace the nose and mouth from the face onto bottom flap.
Draw bottom face
Open up the left flap. Using the photo of your sweetheart as a guide, draw their profile on the right flap so the lips and nose overlap the ones you traced from the top face. Cut the face out from the right flap, and gently erase the pencil marks from tracing the top face. Lock the faces together at the lips.
Finish the faces
Draw in facial features. Make them look like you and your partner by adding distinguishing features like glasses, and hair color and style. Outline the faces and their features in black marker to give them definition.
Decorate the inside
Decorate the inside of the card with a funky design, and add a personal message for your beloved. Deliver your crafty expression of love and find out why they really call them kissing cards!
