Declare and Carry a Firearm in your Baggage!
You can ship an unloaded firearm in your checked bags, if you can legally possess it at your starting point & destination. Why is this useful? The bag gets extra attention and the FBI will find it if it ever gets lost.
Firearm must be unloaded, in a locked hard-sided container and inside your checked bag. Ask the desk agent for an "Unloaded firearm in checked baggage" declaration, complete and sign it -- it goes in your bag but outside the locked gun case. Check your airline website and TSA.Gov for details.
