You don't have to have the perfect body to look amazing; just find the clothing styles that work best with your body type, with the help of these videos.

You Will Need

  • Pants that fit
  • Camisoles
  • Belly bands
  • Cropped jackets
  • Long blouses
  • Wide waistbands

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Take the breath test

Take the breath test: If you have to use extreme inhalation to zip your pants, don't wear them, especially if they're low-rise. When you exhale, there's no place for that flesh to go except over the waistband.

  2. Step 2

    Wear loose trousers

Wear loose-fitting, mid-waist trousers with enough room to accommodate a wider waistline; the slouchy fit means no bulging belly.

  3. Step 3

    Wear pretty camis

Wear a long camisole underneath tops that are too short to cover your mid-section, a common problem with low-waisted pants. Or take a tip from pregnant women: Wear a belly band under blouses that just makes it look like you have a cami peeking out. Find them in lingerie sections or make one yourself out of an old camisole or fitted t-shirt.

  4. Raise your arms to test the cami's coverage.

  5. Step 4

Pair cropped jackets with a long tops

Pair cropped, fitted jackets with long tops. They'll provide the coverage you need while still looking youthful and stylish.

  6. Step 5

    Go wider

Choose slacks and skirts with wider waistbands. Remember, muffin tops belong on plates, not people!

  7. The American Dialect Society named "muffin top" one of the most creative new phrases of 2005.
