You Will Need

  • 1 qt. fruit sorbet
  • 1 qt. ice cream
  • 1 c. chocolate wafers
  • Pound cake
  • 6 egg whites
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • Large bowl
  • Plastic wrap
  • Electric mixer
  • Baking pan

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Line the bowl with plastic

Line the large bowl with plastic wrap, allowing some overhang.

  2. Step 2

    Fill with ice cream

Fill the bowl with the sorbet and ice cream of your choice.

  3. To soften the ice cream, beat it for a few moments with the electric mixer.

  4. Step 3

    Add crumbs

Sprinkle chocolate wafer crumbs generously over the ice cream and sorbet mixture.

  5. Step 4

    Add pound cake

Slice the pound cake into small pieces and completely cover the ice cream. Then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and freeze it for at least 3 hours.

  6. Step 5

    Make the meringue

Make the meringue by whipping the egg whites with the electric mixer, creating soft peaks. Then slowly beat in the sugar and vanilla.

  7. Step 6

    Overturn the cake

Remove the plastic from the bowl and overturn it into a baking pan.

  8. Step 7

    Spread the meringue

Spread the meringue over the cake and freeze it for at least 1 hour.

  9. You can prepare and freeze the cake up to 2 days in advance.

  10. Step 8

    Bake the cake

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees and bake the cake for 5 minutes, or until the meringue is golden, and serve.
