How to Make Edible Undies
Candy underwear is a sweet treat for that special someone in your life. No sewing required!

You Will Need
- A pair of undies
- Parchment paper
- Chewy candies
- A rolling pin
- Twist-and-pull candy
- Scissors
- Latex gloves (optional)
- A spatula (optional)
- Decorative-edge scissors (optional)

Step 1
Make a template
Lay a pair of small underwear, like a bikini or a thong, on a piece of parchment paper and trace the outline of both sides of the undies, leaving a little extra room on the bottom of each side for the crotch. Cut out the templates and place them flat on top of another larger piece of parchment paper.

Step 2
Soften the candy
Microwave caramels or fruit chewies, in 20 second increments, until they are soft, but not melting, taking care not to overcook them. How many you'll need depends on the size of your underwear.

Put candy on template
Press the softened candies about a quarter-inch apart on all but the top inch of the template; use latex gloves and a spatula if you find the goo too hot to handle. Then flatten the candies out with a rolling pin so there's no space between them. Work quickly: The candy re-hardens fast!

If the candy hardens before you can smooth it all out, pop it back in the microwave for just a few seconds to re-soften.

Step 4
Join together
Unravel the twist-and-pull candy so you have shoelace-thin strands; these will be the laces that tie the two sides of your undies together. Lay one string at the top corner of each panty side, with about an inch of the string on the panty, and the rest hanging loose at the sides.

Step 5
Soften more candy
Soften more candy and press it over the one-inch border you left at the top of each side of panty, taking care to cover the string candy overlap so it becomes attached to the undies. Using a different color candy for this border is a nice touch.

Step 6
Attach the crotch
Now attach the crotch ends to each other with more softened candy. Trim any excess candy off the sides with scissors, and let the undies harden.

Give the undies fancy borders by trimming the perimeter with scissors that have a decorative edge.

Step 7
Lace it up
When you're ready to don your undies, carefully peel the parchment paper away and tie each side with the candy strings. Now just be careful not to get your knickers in a twist!
