Think about your behavior. Honestly evaluate whether your parents are really being too strict and consider the possibility that you may need to make behavioral adjustments.
Have a serious discussion with your parents and give specific examples of what you consider to be too strict. Listen and try to understand their defenses.
Don’t be confrontational – you’ll only make matters worse.
Go over what their rules and expectations are to make sure everyone’s on the same page.
Stay calm if you disagree with the rules and explain why you think it is unfair.
Understand the consequences you will face if you break the rules.
Don’t try to pull a fast one on your parents. You’ll probably get caught and, since they’re strict, it probably won’t be worth the consequences.
Talk to a counselor at school or ask your parents about professional counseling. Just bringing it up may help them see the seriousness of the situation.
