You Will Need

  • ½ gal. cardboard milk carton
  • 1 bottle vodka
  • Lemons
  • Flowers
  • 2 cloth napkins
  • Serving tray
  • Optional: Coordinating fruit

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Prepare carton

Pry apart the top of the milk carton so it's completely open and rinse it thoroughly. Put the bottle of vodka inside. There should be a little extra room on all sides.

  2. Step 2

    Fill with water

Fill the carton with cold water to the base of the bottle's neck, leaving an inch at the top.

  3. Step 3

    Remove air bubbles

Tap the sides of the carton gently or rotate the bottle back and forth to dislodge trapped air bubbles.

  4. Step 4

    Decorate

Place thin, round slices of lemon, flowers, or other decorations between the bottle and the carton.

  5. Match the fruit decoration to the flavor of vodka, like berries for berry vodka.

  6. Step 5

    Freeze

Lift the carton carefully by the top edges and place it in your freezer on a flat, level surface and let it freeze overnight.

  7. Step 6

    Serve

Peel the cardboard away from the ice if the bottle does not lift out easily. Place the bottle on top of a cloth napkin on a serving tray. Wrap the lower half of the bottle in another napkin to allow for easy handling. Then chill out with a chilled beverage.

  8. Did you know? Vodka is the largest global spirits category with total sales of 512.7 million cases in 2008.
