  • Clear glass jar
  • Shells or pine cones
  • Research
  • Paint
  • Recycled paper
  • Old socks
  • Yarn
  • Bottle caps
  • Internet access (optional)
  • Empty yogurt containers (optional)

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Play milk jug soccer

    Play milk jug soccer by using an old plastic milk jug for the ball.

  2. Use any type or size plastic jug.

  3. Step 2

    Play "guess how many"

    Play "guess how many" by filling a clear glass jar with shells or pine cones. Whoever gets the closest wins.

    Play Earth Day Trivia. Ask questions related to energy, recycling, and protecting the environment.

  5. Search online for questions to ask children of all ages.

  6. Step 4

    Paint a picture

    Paint a picture related to Earth Day on recycled paper.

  7. Use empty yogurt containers for the paint cups.

  8. Step 5

    Make a hand puppet

    Make a hand puppet out of recyclable items, such as an old sock, yarn, and bottle caps. Put on a puppet show when they are done.

    Perform a skit

    Put two to three kids in a group. Have them create and perform a skit about an Earth Day superhero.
