Wash out the color
Wash out the color. If you've just colored your hair and you are unhappy with the results, try washing your hair with water and shampoo. This only works immediately after you dye your hair.
Wash with baking soda
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with your shampoo and wash your hair. The baking soda will remove chemicals from your hair.
Use natural ingredients
Use natural ingredients to tone down the color of your hair before turning to harsh chemicals. Wash your hair with tomato juice, which will tone down unwanted green tints. Or heat a small amount of extra virgin olive oil and rub it into your hair.
Use an over-the-counter permanent hair color removal product
Use an over-the-counter permanent hair color removal product. Many lines offer products to chemically remove hair color. Use extra care when employing these products at home, and keep them away from your eyes and clothing.
Condition your hair well -- all of this work, especially the chemicals, can damage your natural locks.
Consult a professional
Consult a professional if none of these methods work for you, or if you've gotten yourself into a bigger mess. A trained professional will help you get your color back to normal before you know it.
