Google Account vs Gmail Account
Gmail or Googlemail is a popular mail service from Google. It is among many services you can access using your Google Account. It’s also true that if you have a Gmail account you also have a Google Account (your account has been automatically created when you signed up for Gmail)
What if I already have a Gmail account?
Well, then you have a Google Account already. Your work is done! That is unless you are really serious about web marketing and you don’t want to mix your personal and business accounts…
Visit Google website at www.google.com and look for the ‘Sign in’ link at the top right corner of your screen. Click the link.
Below the login box there is another one, that says ’Don’t have a Google Account?’ and features a link to the account setup form. Click this and fill in the form.
You may want to uncheck ‘Enable Web History’ if you are very concerned about your privacy or for whatever reason you might have
Upon form submit a verification link will be emailed to a mailbox you have used in the registration form.
Occasionally Google asks for your mobile phone number and sends an activation code via SMS. This is to prevent fake account creations.
