You Will Need

  • Wooden frame
  • Paint brushes
  • Gesso or white craft paint
  • Acrylic paint
  • Clear acrylic sealer
  • White glue
  • Craft jewels
  • Plaster of Paris
  • Heart-shaped plastic mold
  • Pin back

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Paint the frame

Help your child impress that special someone by decorating a photo frame together. Paint the frame with one coat of gesso or white craft paint.

  2. Step 2

    Paint the frame

Allow the gesso or white paint to dry and then paint each side of the frame a different color. When the paint dries, spray the frame with acrylic sealer.

  3. Step 3

    Embellish the frame

Embellish the frame by gluing craft jewels around it. Your loved one will be sure to appreciate it.

  4. You can also use self-adhesive craft jewels.

  5. Step 4

    Make a magnet

Surprise your friends, family, and teacher with a heart-shaped pin. Mix the plaster of Paris according to package directions.

  6. Step 5

    Pour the plaster

Pour the plaster into the candy mold, let it sit for 2 minutes, and then place the back of the pin back into the plaster.

  7. Step 6

    Take the heart out

Wait for the plaster to dry, pop the heart out of the mold, and then paint it with acrylic paint.

  8. Step 7

    Spray with acrylic sealer

Spray the heart with acrylic sealer when the paint is dry and let your child present it to their Valentine. Happy Valentine's Day!

  9. In a global poll of 24,000 people in 23 countries, 1 in 5 adults said they would rather spend Valentine's Day with a pet than with a partner.
