Steps
-
Step 1
Thank everyone individually
Thank everyone individually who came to the shower and gave a gift.
-
Step 2
Thank your guests
Thank your guests for taking the time to come to the shower and share this special day with you. Mention the gift in detail and add a positive adjective to give the card a more personal touch.
-
Step 3
Express your sincerity
Express your sincerity -- say how much you loved the gift and how and when you will use it.
-
Step 4
Mention the wedding
Mention how much it means to you that the guest come to your wedding. Use a phrase like, "We look forward to seeing you at the wedding."
-
Step 5
Keep it informal
Keep the ending informal. Use words like "much love" and "warmly" to sign off. Do not use "sincerely."
-
Step 6
Sign the card
Sign the card with your name only -- leave the groom's name off unless it was a co-ed shower. Always sign with your maiden name. It is not correct to sign with your married name until the wedding day.
-
Step 7
Send out within a couple weeks
Send the cards out within two weeks after your shower. Before you know it, the wedding will be here and another round of thank you's will need to go out.
