You Will Need
- Protective gloves, goggles, cotton face mask
- Sponge and a bucket
- Trisodium phosphate
- Chlorine bleach
- Stain-killing primer
- Paintbrush
- Mildew-resistant latex paint
- Ventilation fan

Step 1
Seal it off
Seal off the area from the rest of your home. Cover heat registers and ventilation ducts or grills.

Scrub it down
Put on the protective gloves, face mask, and goggles. Use a sponge and bucket filled with a strong solution of trisodium phosphate and water. Scrub down the cabinets and anywhere else mold is present.

Apply chlorine bleach
Apply the chlorine bleach and leave it on for one to two hours. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water.

Brush on primer
Brush on a stain-killing primer and let it dry as directed. Then paint the cabinets with a mildew-resistant latex paint.

Use prevention
Use preventative measures to keep mold and mildew from returning. Clean your bathroom regularly and consider adding a ventilation fan ducted to the outside to remove the humidity that causes mold.
