Open a window, if possible, before you start cleaning.
Step 2 Scrub it down Put on the protective gloves, face mask, and goggles. Use a sponge and bucket filled with a strong solution of trisodium phosphate and water. Scrub down the cabinets and anywhere else mold is present.
Step 3 Apply chlorine bleach Apply the chlorine bleach and leave it on for one to two hours. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water.
Step 4 Brush on primer Brush on a stain-killing primer and let it dry as directed. Then paint the cabinets with a mildew-resistant latex paint.
Step 5 Use prevention Use preventative measures to keep mold and mildew from returning. Clean your bathroom regularly and consider adding a ventilation fan ducted to the outside to remove the humidity that causes mold.
Mold can appear in many colors, including orange, pink, blue, white, green, black, or brown.
