This video shows you how to recover lost or forgotten Windows passwords using a free program.
For this to work, you will need Ophcrack , which is a free password recovery utility. Go to their website and download their ISO image either for Windows XP or for Windows Vista, depending on which one you are running. Once it’s downloaded, you will need to burn it to a CD and then boot to it.
Once you have it burned to the CD, reboot your computer so that it boots to the CD. From the main menu, select “Ophcrack Graphic mode”. Once the user interface has loaded, it will start scanning for usernames and passwords.
There will be a progress bar in the lower window of Ophcrack showing how complete the process is. In the upper window, it should have a column called “User” which lists the usernames and a column called “NT Pwd”, which lists the Windows password. Once you have the username and the corresponding password, you can use it to log into Windows.

There are many password reset tools, but I haven't personally tested them. Windows Password Recovery Basic is a widely spread edition though...
Once reboot the computer with CD/DVD/USB, remove the lost or forgotten password and then log in to your computer without any password.
Here is its official website, Hope it helps

I have downloaded windows password key 8.0. It is a very quick and useful utility for resetting passwords. It not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password.
Just an easy to use bootable CD/DVD . It can also be used on a USB Flash Drive. http://www.lostwindowspassword.com/

There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

Using the <strong>Windows Password Recovery</strong> Tool---<strong><a href="http://sn.im/wpu">Windows Password Unlocker</a></strong> is highly recommended </p>
<p>1.Download <strong>Windows Password Unlocker</strong> from Password Unlocker Official site </p>
<p>2.Decompress the Windows password unlocker and note that there is an .ISO image file. Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Password Unlocker. </p>
<p>3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive. </p>
<p>4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts) select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.

If you don't want to lose any data, I think you have to use the third party password recovery tool, For example, Windows Password Reset 9.0. The tool will enable you to remove the password in seconds. No need to reinstall Windows and no data loss. http://www.reset-windows-password.com/reset-windows-7-password.html

It’s very easy and useful to reset local administrator and user passwords on any Windows system.
Get started with the download – 3 simple steps:
Step 1 – Download Reset Windows Password - http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html
Step 2 -Burn your Reset Windows Password CD:
To burn your CD, you’ll need a blank CD-R and the .ISO file of Windows Password Recovery.
Step 3 – Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows password.
Hope it helps.

Usually, we can Reset Windows user password in two ways.
The first is to change Windows password with another administrator account;
The second is to reset the user password with the Windows Password Unlocker that had been created before you forgot the password.
Take Windows XP for example,
1 At the Windows XP login prompt when the password is entered incorrectly click the reset button in the login failed window.
2 Insert the password reset diskette into the computer and click Next.
3 If the correct diskette Windows XP will open a window prompting for the new password you wish to use.
Don't worry, Don't forget this 3 steps. luck
