My name's Dana Dunn. I've been working in the piercing business going on 6 years now. I do typically about 3,000 to 4,000 a year. I work at Pins and Needles Tattoo. We have a website pinsandneedlesportland.com. Piercing is my life and I'm going to talk to you about body piercing. tongue rings...they do come in all different um sizes depending on the thickness of your tongue and what you're comfortable with. some people like them to be very tight so they really dont move around at all. they come in metal, they do come in acrylic which is plastic. um they have metal balls, they also have acrylic balls that you can put you know people like to change them to different colors, everything like that. depending on your habits with your tongue ring... um more people prefer plastic balls just because they dont mess up your teeth um as much as a metal one will and that whole thing when it comes to damaging teeth and all that, its really if you just, if you dont..play with your tongue ring, it really wont affect your teeth at all. thats... one of those things where...parents and dentists will really just tell you that tongue rings are very bad because they will affect your teeth, but as long as you can control playing with it and you have one thats comfortable with you and again plastic is ultimately your best bet, you will be fine.
