Learn how to do the basic hip hop dance move Kid 'n Play in this Howcast club dancing video with expert Tweetie.
What up y’all, my name is Tweet Boogie, I represent the South Bronx, had my first Hip Hop crew at fourteen, done some work with Jay Z, Mary J Blige, Destiny’s Child, travel all over the world cos I teach Hip Hop culture and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. Right now I’m about to teach you another basic hip hop move called the Kid n’Play. So, you need to take your left foot. You step to the front, take your right foot and it’s gonna go out in, out, in, now the reason why my foot is in the air is because usually you do this dance with a partner, but for right now I’m doing it with you. We are going to take our left foot, we are going to step to the front, boom, your right foot is going to go out, in, out, in. Now our heels should be hitting each other, so the illusion is, is step out in, step, back, step, out in, step back. Now that’s our lower part of our body. The upper part is your arms so they should go out, in, out, in, out in. Don’t think of a bird, don’t think of a chicken, especially because my name is Tweetie. Your arms should go out in, out in, right? So, we’re going to put those two movements together and you are going to take a step, out, in, good and you’re going to use the right foot, out, in. Remember that your heels will touch the other person’s heel, your foot or your heel should not hit their ankles so you’re going to take a step back. Take a step back and take another step back. Good. So you have out, in, out, in, step, back, out, in, out, in, step, back, out, in, out, in, step, back, out, in, out, in, step, back. Now I am going to show you from the side how it would look if I was doing it with a partner. So, imagine yourself here. So, here we go. Left foot first, your left foot with my left foot. Six, seven, eight and one and two, three, four and five and six, seven, eight, step, heel, step back, step, heel step back. Good. Now we are going to try it with music to see if this dance actually works. I know it does but I’m going to get my DJ. DJ! Uh-oh, I see you got the nineties music going, here we go, you ready? Slow, five, six, seven, eight, step out, in, step, back and step out, in, step, back and step, out, in step back. So now, now we are going to try it with the tempo. Here we go, five, six, five, six, seven eight, step in, step back, step in, step back, step in, step back. Step, heel, step back. Good. I hope you are doing it, I hope you are doing it with me, but if not make sure you take this, and find yourself a partner, so you, can be doing the Kid n’Play.
