My name is Kru Phil Nurse. I run a Muay Thai-style fighting gym in New York City called The Wat. We have some of the world champion fighters that trained at The Wat. If you want to find out more about The Wat, you can contact us at thewat.com. Today we're gonna be talking about the UFC. striking to Clinch. Striking to the Clinch is you are trying to close your distance and get yourself into the Thai prom or into the what we call the clinch move to get closer on your technique. Various ways you can do that. Two ways I'm going to show you today is one with an elbow where you're trying to move in on your opponent and into a solar plexus and then back into the clinch move. And then the second way is you're going to actually throw a knee. You're going to try to do a fake actually. It's like fake with a right low kick. Faking him which makes him bring his leg up. I'm going to enter with my knee, as I hit with the knee he's going to probably bend forward and that's going to drop me straight into the clinch move. I'm going to try and show you two but like I said there's a lot of different ways you can do it. First of all I'm going to show you by the elbow. Left guarding as I step in and try to hit right into the sternum into the solar plexus , to grab up to the head with the left, then the right, step back and then I plant my knee straight to the face or to the body. My second way of moving into striking to clinch, same thing. I'm back on my guard again, now this time I'm just going to go straight for the knee. May be I pretend to fake something on this side to get his attention on this side and may be he goes to block on this side and he does, strike to the body with the knee and then I'm straight down to the clinch. If the knee is strong enough, his body will actually fall straight into my clinch. So watch one more time with that same technique. I throw fake in the kick, now I hit him with the knee, his body bends forward, I drop straight on to his neck. Then he moves straight into the rest of his knees again looking for the head, looking for the body. Those are the two ways you can strike and getting into the clinch move.
