My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding. Setting the budget for your wedding is a crucial first step. Figure out how much you're comfortable spending and do not take out a second mortgage. This is one day of your life, not the rest of it. Decide on how many people you are inviting and make sure you have enough money to make them feel comfortable. Be realistic but definitely leave some extra because you will go over budget. Your wedding budget should include everything from start to finish. It should have invitations, venue, flowers, thank-you notes, everything you could possibly think of, even hair and make-up that day and bridesmaid's gifts. Make sure you have everything covered and you'll have a much more enjoyable day.
