High School Dating Advice: The Trick to Getting Your Girlfriend Back Shallon Lester: Boys, I understand there's no worse feeling than wanting your girlfriend back -- it's awful! There are a few things you need to do to reel that girl back in your life. Number 1: Be busy. Not only will it take your mind off the heartbreak but she will se you've moved on that will make you so much more attractive. But if you're lurking around school, being all emo and depressed and posting weird things in your Facebook status it's going to turn her off -- no guy has cried or whined his way out of dumped. Number 2: Take another girl on a date. Now, this is a little mean because even if you don't like her, I kind of want you to use her but not for sex. Do not hook up with her -- this is the crucial part because if just go out and keep things on a flirty level your ex will become insanely jealous because she'll think you've moved on -- and girls always want what they cannot have. Also, be nice to your ex. I know that this is really difficult because you just can't wait to have her back. But if you're just nice, casual, a little bit detached, again she's going to think you've moved on. And again she's going to want what she can't have. But if you guys are on good speaking terms don't be afraid to acknowledge something you might have done wrong in the relationship. It's fine and good to say, ""Jen, I realize that texting 36 times a day was psycho. I will not do that again -- that was wrong and creepy."" A lot of girls might want to get back together but they're afraid that it's just going to be the same thing again and again and again and girls don't really want to have the same argument over and over. So if you can acknowledge there was something you did wrong in the relationship, she might see you in a whole new light.
