My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding. Thank God people are living a lot longer today, and a lot of people, after they're widowed, are having second weddings. It's also the world where many people are getting divorced, so second and third weddings are not uncommon. Many, many people opt to make the second and third wedding very much the same as the first wedding, because it's the first for them and it's starting off their married life, which is no less significant than when they were married the time before. With financial constraints on making second and third weddings, most people choose to do them a bit smaller, and therefore, they cost a little bit less money. But certainly in terms of the formality of it, you can certainly have everything that you had the first time around, which is a party, a happy, happy occasion; with bands, with food, in a beautiful space. If there are budget constraints, one can do a buffet, bring a caterer to the home, and do a really beautiful wedding at home. But it's no less important to celebrate the second and third marriages as it is to have the first.
