"Hi, I'm Taylor Nissi, Director of Operations for Game Breaker Lacrosse. I'm here today with Nick Schmidt who's one of our great regional directors. Please visit our website www.laxcamps.com. Playing goalie in Lacrosse is a very important position. You're the main communicator for the defense as well as in charge of stopping the ball. As the ball moves around the field it's important that you clearly and loudly let your defense know where the ball is. Additional responsibilities include making sure that the person who's in charge of covering the ball is in a good position and the person who's helping is in a good position. The proper position for goalie in Lacrosse is to have a slight bend in your knee and maintain a low athletic position. You want to have your stick up and as you move around the goal you always want to maintain proper position to try and limit the offensive shooting angles. As we move around, we should keep our eye on the ball and remember to keep communicating to our defensive teammates. As shots come, you want to maintain eye contact with and aggressively step to the ball. As we step, we want to step with our stick and follow with our body in case our stick misses. The main objectives when stopping a shot are to step out to the ball and limit the rebounds. While a team is comprised of ten players, goalie's most often a very important part. You're the last line of defense for your team, and a good goalie can be a huge factor in the game. "
