"My number one, hands down favorite job search site is Linkedin. In this day and age it's all about who you know and now you have this platform, this online platform, to get to know people by virtue of their skills and experience. You don't have to necessarily meet them for coffee, take the time to get to know them that way. You can learn about where they graduated from school. You can learn about what jobs they've had in the past, and by virtue of this frame of reference, you introduce yourself, make a connection and then they've become a part of your network. And that is how you find jobs. It is through your networks. So, it's not just about job listings. I think by the time a job is listed whether it be on Monster or any other job search sites, the job's probably already been filled. Honestly, it's come to that. I also believe in this day and age that employers are going out, they're not spending the money to post jobs online, they're going out and proactively seeking people and that's why it's essential that you have a Linkedin profile because you could be sought out. If you've filled out your profile, if you've all the skills that you actually have in your Linkedin profile, a job can come to you and this is the wave of the future. We know more and more employers are actually going to job search sites to find people so it's not just about responding to listings that are already available. It's about building a network, filling out a profile so that employers can find you. And that's how you use job search sites to find a job. "
