"How to Make a Princess Castle Cake/ Assembly 2/2 OK. So we've gotten our first cake crumb-coated and we can set this aside for now. What we want to do is crumple a second, a smaller cake that is going to go right on top of our layer cake. So I always put a little icing on the board so it holds our cake in place. You want to put this second one on a board that's exactly the same size, and it's [xx] around but it's OK, the icing is going to cover that. Cut the top of the cake, so that evens it out, and add some icing so that we can hold our second cake in place. I'm going to do the same thing with this one we'll cut a shred across its hat, so that it's nice and even... I will ad a little more icing. And again, what we'll do with this one is we'll cut it across the top before we add it on, and we're going to apply this one bottom side up, push it down a little bit, so that's nice and even. Then we're going to add a crumb coat to this one as well again this is just going to help to remove all the crumbs out of our cake, so we can have a nice surface to work with when we're ready to decorate. We'll ice the sides as well. And if your cake is not even don't worry about it: once it's cooled we can go back and we can even it out. All right, I'm going to wipe away the excess icing, and then smooth across the top. All right, that looks nice and even, so we're laying this separated for now, and then once we are ready to put our cake together we'll tear them and we'll make our castle cake."
